Ford 4500 CD/Radio Serial No.? - mountainkat
Just bought a Ford Fiesta (2004) & it has the 4500CD/Radio fitted, the one that's completely integrated into the dash. Unfortunately the garage I bought the car from didn't have the "keycode".

Does anyone know where the "serial number" is located on the CD unit as I need it to get the keycode from Ford --- hoping to not have to remove the complete dashboard to find it !!!

This works and if you need to get the code for the stereo, use the link below to get it. You will need to:

-download the serial generator

-read instructions that come with the download.

-enter the serial number and it will generate the correct code.

I have done this several times and it works.

More than likely it will be on side or rear of the case of the stereo (as per all other stereos), and the only way you'll see it is to pull the thing from the dashboard.

Look around the front of the stereo, there's probably a removal bezel to gain access to the holes in which you push the removal tool into.

May be easier to take it to your local ford dealer. I have the same problem but the garage said they will remove unit identify the serial no. provide a code to unlock the unit all for £10. Takes about 15 mins done while you wait. Doesn't seem bad to me

Just spoken to the Ford dealer who originally supplied the car:

apparently serial number can be found without removing whole unit (which I thought would make sense). Press 2 & 6 buttons at the same time & it should display the serial number.

The dealer I spoke to said that if I could prove ownership of the vehicle & supply this serial number they would give me the code for nothing !!!

V059895 is a plausible serial number, FDB2007 is not.

For the former, the code should be

5329.
