CAP or Glass's - which is best?

CAP or Glass's - which is best? - jeremyb
As a new trader, which should I subscribe to? They are both so expensive - is there an alternative?

I have asked a trader friend and he said,
Glasses is universal,but
CAP is generally the one used by auctions, Glass's by trade.
Values vary between the guides.
They are only guides, market forces dictate what goes for what.
At the moment, in our area anyway, auction prices are up because stock is not available. (Seasonal variations)
He subscibes to one, friend the other and they confer.
But!! market forces are deciding factor in worth.

Generally i use Glass's for most PX's, occasionally refer to cap for a 2nd opinion.

Dealers and especially franchises usually buy by Glass's which to some extent is a self-fulfilling prophesy. But CAP 'Current Auction Prices' tends to be more accurate of what cars are fetching at auction. Once you have a BCA account, the composite prices at BCA's Auctionview are the most up to date of the lot.
