A thread for anyone at a loose end on Monday and wants somewhere to go.. Motoring related of course!
The annual Mayday American car show at St Cleres Golf Club (on the old A13) Stanford le Hope Essex.
Well worth a visit. I'll be there!
Any other suggestions?

Yes, there will be a lot of private people there, not necessarily buying, though. Auctions are always worth a look, especially if it's not costing you a day off work and you've got nothing better to do. Take a Switch or Delta card and you can buy if you see something you like.

Vauxhall Speed & Show Day - Monday.
Not too bad a day until the rain came down at 14:30. Usual saddo's on the "Run what ya brung" event where some of the cars couldn't manage to pull the skin off a rice pudding, but the most impressive cars were Steve Pateman's street legal Vauxhall Calibra, which managed ¼ mile in 8.6 seconds, ( www.pro-system.com/patemanshow.html ) and Roger Goring in his 250mph jet powered funny car ( www.firestorm-jfc.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ )
I'll be loading some photos to both the unofficial HJ MSN website and my picture website at some point in the near future for those who are interested.

Banger racing, between Priddy and Shipham on the Mendips. Went today, great fun, it's on tomorrow too. Take a picnic though.

I'll leave the Galaxy on the drive tomorrow I think - I've got to drive from Carlisle to Inverness on Tuesday morning, plus a flight from Inverness to Stornoway on Thursday, back to Inverness on Friday afternoon and then back to Carlisle straight afterwards.
Then, on the following Monday, I'm taking the Galaxy up to Ullapool and onto the ferry to Stornoway, then on the Friday I'm flying back to Glasgow and then train to Carlisle.
Then, the Monday after, I'm driving SWMBO's Vectra (complete with dings) to Ullapool for the same journey!
Still with me???
As we're going to be working on the Isle of Lewis for the next 9 months, intersperced 3-weekly flights to/from Glasgow and hire cars back to/from Carlisle, I've got better things to do than drive my car on a Bank Holiday Monday, that's for sure!!!

Hi LD. Enjoy. Adoration of the Western Isles is an incurable condition. Got the bug 21 yrs ago on SWMBO's and my first proper holiday together.
I'm spending the next BH as part of my annual pilgrimage to Harris.

Saw lots of Italian metal heading for the Italian show at Brooklands on Saturday. Including an F40. :-)

There is a guy round the corner from me who has a white Beta HPE slowly turning into a shed on his drive. Its not moved in 2 years to my knowledge. Pity Always fancied one.

Now the holiday is over, following RF's post, here's a shed story.
Many years ago when I took up building and decorating in between jobs we needed a van so we bought Ron's 'shed'. This was a Transit which Ron had moored to the kerb outside his house and which he used as his shed. £20 changed hands, 'Nellie' was brought back to life, ticketed, taxed and served us well for 6 months or so. She didn't have a conventional radio, so every morning on the run to pick up our crew and get to the sites, someone had to be the 'Sun Radio'. Which meant they read the Sun to the rest of us.

How did they read Page 3? Were hand gestures allowed?
