Buying Mini Cooper, where ? - Monkeycage
All,
first post so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place or I breach any forum etiquette.

SWMBO has decreed that she would like a new Mini Cooper to replace our ageing Scenic.
This seems to be a good proposition however given the hype surrounding the Mini and it's popularity there appears to be no room for negotiation on price at my local dealer. Is it worth looking further afield for better discounts or do I just have to grin and bear it. I will not be using BMW / Mini finance as cash is available.

Many thanks in advance for your replies.

And I've seen £8,500 paid at auction for a 3 year old MINI One. They are quite good wheels in which to store your money, but be carefull to accessorise correctly. A/c and a CD/MP3 player are must haves, and alloy wheels on a MINI One. Also be careful about colour. All-over red is good. All-over black is good. All-over custard yellow isn't.

HJ must have missed the miley ONE, in Blackbushe last Friday - didn't make £7,000 @ 67k me thinks.

There are a few showing up in the fleet sections, but not in great numbers.Worth clik on AuctionView - link to our left - 26 in auction, just now.

I didn't see that one. But big mileage ex-driving school MINI Ones with steel wheels and in the wrong colour are not what the market wants. You can't wave a magic wand over a £7k MINI One and turn it into £8,500 worth at trade money. I was surprised to see the red 02 MINI One with a/c and MP3 player make £8,500. But it did.

But is now to late to buy the MINI - perhaps the smart buyers were those who bought 2+years ago? When's the new one due out? Will that bring on a more relsitic price for the older version?
