Audi - conspicuously absent from auction - ubidenmark
I was trawling through the catalogues of upcoming auctions. There are plenty of upmarket BMWs, Mercedes, Porsches etc. But Audis are conspicuously absent.

Does Audi have a closed disposal channel ? Is there some other explanation for this ? Or is it just a fluke ?

Thanks

I should clarify that I was looking through the prestige catalogues. The question is still valid, however.

Just a guess, but maybe it's because Audis are seen as a "premium" brand, so that dealers can always offload any clapped-out jalopy at a decent profit margin rather than having ton send it of to auction?

Loads of Audis at Blackbushe today, including an A3 S-Line TDI 140 DSG and a current model A6 TDI 140 SE.

The auctions seem rubbish at the moment, I have been using the BCA auctionview for several possible cars, and no luck, but loads of 'closed' auctions which the general public can't participate in.

Are you posting up prices later on ?

Audi A3 Sportback TDI 140 DSG, 2005/55, 5k miles £20,700 sold

This seems high to me - I presume it's a base spec. A brand new SE can be had for about this from a dealer.

However if you order a new A3 Sportback TDi you will be looking at approximately a 12 to 14 week factory build so you could be paying a premium for quick availability.
