On the subject of cops in plain wrappers, which cars have we seen being used recently? We've all seen Volvos, Subaru, and Octavias - claims of black Fabias being used in east yorkshire too. Any others?

Fire and Rescue Service vehicles in some areas have their senior mangers/officers driving in their plain cars with permenant fixed blue lights "to promote road safety" in some areas.

unmarked omega, pug 407 and MOTORBIKES (top box with the blue lights in, looked like they were behind black gauze)
Claimed unmarked 911 on a1-m1 link, not seen it myself (told that it is/was white.

seen several unmarked mondeos and a golf.

Merseyside had an Astra GTE years ago but quite like the 3 and 5 Series.
Lancashire Police clearly have an unmarked Golf - one whizzed past me last week with a little blue light on top. Not seen one like that for years!
Gtr. Manchester have a few Saab 95's I think.

Mercedes C Class in West Sussex. Nabbed a journo on the RS4 launch.

Of course there are more unmarked cars - it's CHEAPER to buy them in standard colours than tart them up with police insignia. I suppose, looking on the bright side, it saves me paying a bit of tax

Got nabbed myself by something black with a big lairy spoiler on the back on the M1 in Nottinghamshire.

Watch out for black Lexus' around Wilts. Often seen them on clearing-up duties at RTA's , aswell as dishing out points!

North Wales Police have a couple of black vectra saloons, a blue mondeo, a couple of Galaxy's and, IIRC a couple of V70's

In Essex,we have a marked pick-up.

Essex also has some plain BMW's - seen a grey one around the Sadlers Farm roundabout a few times

For their stretch of the M1, I know Derbyshire have a maroon Omega and a blue BMW 5 series touring. Ive not seen the Beemer for a while, but saw the Omega yesterday. Blue lights hidden in the grille and red lights in back window.

Brunstrums boys also have a few unmarked T5 Estates i think connected to the armed response as i live not too far away from the unit

If it's the one I've seen it's a rather obvious white... Other unmarked cars seen round West Sussex are usually Skoda Octavias. There are also a few marked silver E320CDI estates used, though the number of marked Mondeo hatches is increasing as well...

The more of them the merrier.
If it helps educate or even temporarily dismiss from the roads some, if not all, of the idiots we all see every day, then that's fine by me.

Not current, but Hampshire have in the past run the following unmarked:
Subaru Impreza Turbo
Vento VR6
BMW 325 TDS
Audi A4 2.4
MB C Class
As well as the usual T5's and Octavia's which are current. The Octavia's have Welsh (C) or West Country (W) plates which surprises me as virtually all of the fleet have Hampshire/Dorset (H) plates. Any ideas?

East Sussex Police have a silver Mitsubishi Evo that I see all the time. Suspect it to chase all those weekend bikers that come down to Brighton.

In Cornwall a few years back I saw a silver Merc C-Class with complete AMG bodykit, very elegant and seriously large alloys (looked 18 or 19 inches), blacked out windows and a single police stripe along the sides. Couldn't see the back to see whether it was a real C55 AMG or a C180 with the bodykit.
