Hi Adam. What do you mean you cannot load the page? I only use a dial-up ISP on this very old computer (Pentium III @ 500MHz) and the page loads within 10 seconds. I am not a computer boffin, but it sounds like you have either a very poor connection or another program is running in the background that is stopping the communication with the server.

I think it's something to do with the rest of the site loading slow to do with a particular ad. (There's a thread about it very close to this one). Half the page loads and then it tries to load something perpetually without getting anywhere.
I want to look at the Jag!!!
(It's taken me 5 tries to get onto thie reply page!)

Hi Adam, in another thread there are other people experiencing problems at the moment. This reply might help you.
But having looked into this just now if you install the Firefox adblock extension, then add *.intellitxt.*, *.doubleclick.*, and *.tangozebra.* to the preferences, the site speeds right back up again. So it's the amount of stuff you have to download from the advertising sites that is damaging the revenue-raising capabilities of this site. Ironic, innit?

I have e-mailed the agency about that. Seems to me the problem is that whenever that pop up reappers it automatically goes through the entire sequence of loading all the ads. If you get impatient and click again while it's doing that you cause an even bigger problem. So the agency traffic department is looking at the way ads are loaded so pop ups don't drag everything else with them.

My machine is even older - PII 400 - but I use Norton and the site doesn't give any problems at all - I don't see any pop-up ads of course.
Shame that with all this useful technology I can't be bothered to look at the latest Ford Jaguar that everyone will be bored with by this time next year.
My friend was up here today with his very tidy 1976 Daimler XJ Coupe, Webasto roof open and all windows down in the sunshine. Now that's something else...

I thought it was about 6.0 - 6.3.

Having spent some time in a Jaguar dealer recently negotiating on an X-type, I can say the new XK is set for success. I must have witnessed nearly 10 people walk in and say "I want to buy a new XK". I'm not joking - it was a steady stream. They weren't asking about the car, they all just stated straight up they wanted to buy one. Unfortunately they walked away disappointed, as my local dealer has already sold their entire allocation of cars for the first year! I don't know where all these people with 60k spare cash come from, but they all seem to want an XK!

The new SL500 with 388PS does. The old one with 306PS did it in 6.0
These are the figures from my road tests:-
(For Comparison) Old SL500 5-speed auto: 0-60 6.0 seconds; top speed 155 mph (electronically limited); combined mpg 22.2; CO2 emissions 304g/km. Insurance Group 20A.
SL500 V8 petrol 7-Gtronic: 0-60 5.1 seconds; top speed 156mph (limited); fuel 23.2mpg combined, CO2 291g/km. EU4.

This surprises me too HJ. I'd be interested to see/read/hear how this is substantiated.
In particular, it will be interesting to see how these cars perform in real crashes. In comparing steel and aluminium, the concrete wall impacts typically used for type approval can flatter aluminium because aluminium can allow local penetrations with very little energy absorption.
