My comment is.... it's got a Fiat badge on it, so no thank you!

Are you looking at new, get a discount and still very steep depreciation, or 2nd hand? I don't suppose there are many on the 2nd hand market, yet.

Brother has a 156 with the same engine. He loves it, and has had no problems. Not sure about the galvanising thing but would suspect they do, it will come with a hefty anti corrosion guarantee.
I know that they are selling above Fiats expectations, not sure about over here though, although I've seen a few.

How many Fiat parts, apart from an advertising logo, are actually used in MS's F1 car? Not a lot I'd guess!

if your knowledge of fiat and michael schumachers ferrari is as good as I think, then please buy 1 of these and tell me what you think in a couple of years? My comment still stands!
Not many fiat owners that i know would buy another one (any model). thats probably why the brand is suffering as much as it is?

Same for Alfa's ????

Cheap running costs are not available for them ?

They are actually selling extremely well across Europe and unlike most other car firms making a profit with build and reliability problems overcome .I have run Alfas and Fiats and found them to be just as reliable as anthything else and more so than some (Renault,Nissan). The Alfa 166 must be the best value for money secondhand going if you want a large cruiser.Like all new cars depreciation is mind bending just look at Mondeos or Vectras. A pre reg Croma I think would make a good buy and they are superb to drive and well spect having used one as a rental a few weeks ago.

I've always had Fiats, from my first Panda to my current Brava 1.9 JTD, with a dalliance with a VW Polo for 6 mths, but a lot of trouble with it meant I went back to Tipos. In fact the Panda was such a great car I bought one again, and have since acquired another 2, so I currently own 3 of them.....
and a 126 FSM
and a 900T citivan :-)
As regards the Croma, the same JTD unit in my Brava has been faultless, and what I have seen at the Italian shows is the build quality has improved considerably.
Doing better than expected on Mainland Europe though. I've only seen a handful here but when I was at Lake Garda I saw loads of them.
