I may be changing my car, so i've been trying to get a price from parkers web site.
I've tried from three different pc's in two different locations, and had tried to get prices for other cars, but I just keep getting 'an error has occured'
anybody else seeing the same thing ?

Yeah, it seems to be down.

In my experience of parkers you may as well just think of a number, double it, minus the square root of your age then add 57 and you won't be far from the parkers value.
Try this for a more accurate valuation of it's worth.

Thanks for this most useful lead Mr. Fish.

In my opinion parkers and other guides are a waste of space.
There are only two sources of prices. 1 is the part ex price as in cap or glasses. This is your trade in price. The other is autotrader, this is what your car will fetch as a private sale.

You used to be able to get a text price guide from parkers for your car.

Yes! I've just battled with an insurer on behalf of an elderly relative regarding the value of a written-off Mondeo, the guide price was a long way below the advertised prices for equivalent cars in Autotrader and E&M. The final uplift on the offer was approx 30% but still slightly below the market asking price, close enough though to accept. The Glasses online price is far below the final offer.

Thanks, Blue Haddock.
If that is still available completely free of charge, then why would anyone want to pay £2.95 for a Glass's valuation using the banner on the left?
It's a problem I've had for years.
Bit difficult to sell someone's product (on a tiny commission) when that same someone is also giving it away.

That Glass guide valuation one is spot on.

not that old banger golf its too old..............
my car is a banger as well as thats not listed either.
will keep to my black book it lists all bangers known to man
|

Pricing bangers is impossible, £500 can buy you a couple of years of (virtually) trouble free motoring. £500 can also buy you the opportunity to spend several £k. But it's not as bad as boats, you can pay £5k for the opportunity to spend £20k.

I guess vauxhall who provide it must pay a fair whack but it seem strange that like you say they would still have other people pay good money for the service
