Maybe the best thing to do is to try to collect Growler and Growlette's Backroom contributions together and try to get a publisher interested with all funds going to Growlette. Only problem is we have lost contact with Growlette.

Maybe Hilary hasn't lost contact.
Print On Demand is the way to do this. Forget publishers as there is no ready market beyond this site and in any case she'd do very well to get 10% of the wholesale. POD would give £3-4 per copy to Growlette, would be linkable from here, and could even be done as an e-book. Of course this is not going to help much financially, but a "festschrift" is a nice thing to have in these circumstances.
This is a good "consumer" POD service: www.lulu.com/uk
I didn't agree with GRowler on many subjects and he mocked my hippy liberal sandal-wearing ways, but we shared a joke or two and his stories were great. I miss him.

Erudite and Honest. Have missed him so much.
Very Best Regards to Growlette,
Martin Devon.

Reckon a compilation created as a pdf, easily e-mailed, universally shareable and easily printed, downloadable from this site perhaps, voluntary contribution of say £10 to G's family or perhaps better a cancer charity.

Very sorry to read about this, touches rather a raw nerve having recently lost a family member to the big C with only a few weeks warning.
Growler was one of the first posters I really noticed when I stumbled into the BR back in 2001 when I was also one of the expat readers.
Best wishes to Growlette if she ever sees this

Yeah, right.
Nonethless, sorely missed. Rest in peace, the world is less interesting without you.

not been on here for ages, had to "make do" with my company Focus.
Saw this post and thought ... No way.
Gutted. really Gutted.
loved his wit, and typed charm.
My thoughts go to his loved ones.

Late to this thread, and more importantly this news, due to absence.
I'll remember Growler's posts for their wit and colourfulness. They always gave me the impression that he was a larger-than-life character, someone I would have loved to have met.
RIP.

A good idea HJ - maybe DVD could be of help in that area, as he has his sister's e mail contact.

A nice idea perhaps, but probably not a good idea. Baskerville was spot on, his comments repeated for clarity...

I repeat my earlier comments, I reckon a compilation created as a pdf, easily e-mailed, universally shareable and easily printed, downloadable from this site perhaps, voluntary contribution of say £10 to G's family or perhaps better a cancer charity. Voluntary contributions much easier to administer than charging, no tax issues etc.

paypal to pay ?
Paypal a good medium though if asking for contributions not payment then little regs apply.
|
"then little regs apply."
Which means "then few regulations apply" ?

"then little regs apply." Which means "then few regulations apply" ?
Yes, fewer, I stand corrected.
Pedant! ;-)

Few or fewer? It's time we got this straight! ;-)
