With apologies to Rudyard Kipling...

If you can keep you head when all about you are losing theirs
If you can edit the same person's posts over and over again and not kill them,
And at the same time resist the urge to correct the grammar in their posts,
If you can gently steer conversation back to motoring,
If you can remain united when editing happens and nobody admits to it,
If you can fight your way through slightly longwinded forum software,
And still keep coming back for more,
Then...you'll be a moderator my son (or daughter)!

We need another moderator, please.

Smokie is still about but has let work take over his life (anyone would think he was getting paid for it), and I'm here most of the time but prone to disappearing and not telling anyone where I'm off to or how long for. This leaves Dave holding the fort for longer than he really should, so we need another to share the load.

It's not an onerous task and not technically difficult. Ideally you need to be able to pop in once a day, and check the moderator's email to see if anything has been reported, e.g. swearing, that needs editing out. In fact, a daytime visitor would be great, as both Dave and I can have issues getting online during work.

The perks? Well it's the only way to get a legitimate edit button! Allegedly there's a ploughmans, but I've not seen evidence of it yet. I personally get to give something back to the forum that has given me so much good advice over the years. I don't know much about cars, but I do know how to moderate a forum, so that's my little bit.
