Interesting reading this, thanks for the reports of the problems re: door handles & also the demand for Qashqai's and Juke's in Russia.
Wife bought a new 1.6 Visia (the pov model) manual 5 years ago and it's been fine. drivers side internal door mechanism failed about 3 years ago but part was replaced under warranty & courtesy car provided whilst this was being done.
Other than that, annual servicing @ local Chorley dealer who supplied it.
Tyes and MoT's not done there however, and some of the 'advisories' at service time I have taken with a pinch of salt. But that's the same as any main dealer.
Coming up to 60k now so will make tentative investigations as to whether there is any point in replacing it for another of similar. It's either now, or we carry on with it until it becomes worthless. I am half-looking forward to this, as the salesmen will have to convince us as existing owners of a Qashqai to replace it with a newer one. I wonder what he/she might say ?
Interesting, the list price is now £16,595, whereas it was £13,595 5 years ago (I remembered this as we made the dealer make the cost-to-change price from a 51-reg Pug 206 1.4 a nice round number of £11,000).
At this price level I can only assume Nissan are now taking the Ford model of list prices, and jacking them up so the punters haggle a load off them.
I saw a nearly-new one on the forecourt recently for £22k and that's just ridiculous. I don't care what spec it is, £22k for a Qashqai is Too Much Money For What It Is.
cheers
