New 1.4 T more power & torque than outgoing 1.6 - Falkirk Bairn
The somewhat breathless 1.6 Golf to be replaced by 1.4, Turbo - more power, more torque, more MPG - less emissions and all for £200 more..........

Seems to be a lot for not a lot more so where is the catch?

New 1.4 T more power & torque than outgoing 1.6 - Screwloose

A new engine every 50K like the 100PS 1.4s run on 95 octane?

The FSi didn't last long - it's warranty claims will make sure VW never forget it....

They must have had an inkling when it's designated engine code was BAD.....

Well my ZR has a 1.4 twin cam engine which produces just over 100 bhp, it can do high miles if looked after properly.

I, er, posted a news item about this new engine this morning (eyes right and down). It's been known about for a while. Drivethedeal has had a discount on it for about 3 weeks. Conforming Screwloose's point, I've had a lot of flack from reader about the 1.6FSI that doesn't like anything but the very best petrol. The turbo on the new 122PS 1.4 TSI is probably the same water-cooled device as on the more powerful supercharged/turbocharged TSIs. To keep frazerjp happy, a reader has managed 400k miles from a 1.4 K-Series.
