Peugeot 106 (1991 - 2002) - 95 - speedo stopped working

I have recently bought an M reg Peugeot 106 XSi 1.6L, my speedo has stopped working and was wondering if it was electronic or cable, and how to fix it

Hi
If I remember correctly it?s 2 cables and it goes in the passenger side then behind the dash to the speed. A real pig to replace.
