It looks very like an audi a3 to me.

I thought the car looked like a Honda Civic.
It seems like a smart enough car and am seriously thinking about trading in my (faulty) Skoda Fabia to get one

We've had a Kia (Picanto) for nearly 3 years and would probably not choose the brand again because of negative experiences we've had with the dealer network. I'd add the Hyundai i30 to your list to check out - Ceed by another name and in my limited experience, better dealers.

I do not know what my local dealership is like having got my brochure over the website.
I think I will make a trip to see them over the weekend and see what they have to say.
Hopefully it will be good

I had a 5-door on a three day test drive last year. I found it very easy to live with. Well built, good specification, nice to drive (if not quite to Focus standard). The warranty is the best on the market.

We saw one of these back in february at our local dealer, looks fantastic in the flesh and drove really well. Ordered one after a test drive, sadly we are still waiting for a delivery date. Apparantly Kia under estimated the demand for it.
However the car is loaded to the hilt with every extra that you could want.
We ordered a 2.0 Sport at a very reasonable discount on list price and a & year warranty to boot.

Oops, keyed wrong, should have said 7 year warranty.

joshua, you have an edit key to amend mistakes (works for 5 mins or until someone replies to your post - whichever is sooner)

It's a weird design. They've done something silly with suspension, it's jarring and hard and is creaking and scraping on kerbs and bumps on our hilly parking. In the same time, neither petrol nor diesel is any fast, over 10 seconds to 60 is certainly not fast enough to compromise the already lacking comforts of regular Cee'd. Styling hampers visibility through back windows. And the highly alienating £14,800 number in a window of "Sport" version puts the 2 litre diesel at unfortunate position of posing next to just about anything mildly sporty out there between Civic Type S and Impreza these days, but in case of the competitionr you won't have to pretend it's faster by leaning on the steering wheel...
