In outward appearance, a white Minimoke with coloured decorations on its sides.
However, vehicle is a space frame chassis with engine bay and mechanicals from MK1 903cc Panda and was built in the early 1980s. It is not a recognised kit car (ie Scamp) nor, I am told, a converted Moke.
Does anyone recognise the vehicle from this description and can anyone offer any further information please ?
Yes Mark, its me again !
Thank you, Pete. petel@clara.co.uk

Thanks Steve.
There were two of these, one by Onyx and another by a different manufacturer, they were both two seat sports cars
There was also the NCF Torino which was built on a 4X4 Panda.
None of these are the Pandamoke, which is the one mentioned in the last posting on your link. It now has a new owner.
Rgds, Pete.

FIAT itself used to sanction an all-steel Moke type of vehicle on a stretched 127 floorpan. I rented one in Crete about 20 years ago and it took seven of us from Agios Galini to Chania and back.

Thanks HJ, this is a new one on me.
Could it have been a Savio Jungla like the one owned until recently by Phillip Rosselli?
The Jungla was a small open jeep of military appearance built on a Fiat 600D floorpan.
Thanks, Pete.

No. It had a FIAT 127 first facelift front and transverse engine. Can't remember if it was the 1050 of the 903. Probably the 903. And it actually had seven seats. The back two faced each other.

If we're really going to get into Pandas, there was an outfit in Spain called Emelba which built Ritmo-based Spanish post vans. Another of its projects was quite a neat one-box Panda-based MPV, with three rows of seats like the old Multipla. I had a photo of one once, but won't be able to find it.

Thanks again HJ, reliable as ever.
If the vehicle you used had a 127 front end, then it is not this one. This vechical is almost identical in appearance to a Minimoke, right down to the Mini/Morris 1000 headlights and indicators. I am becoming more and more convinced that this is a converted Minimoke, though the owner insists not.
Will keep you advised. Thanks again, Pete.

We're not thinking about that thing made by Steyr-Puch Haflinger thingy are we?

My thanks to everyone for their contributions to this thread.
Subject to final confirmation, it seems that this vehicle is a one-off prototype, built by John Berry one of the founders of BRA Kitcars. It was built in 1989 using a Panda 45 from 1984 as a donor. It still carries the original Pandas VIN plate and is registered with DVLA as a Panda convertible.
Thanks again to all concerned regards, Pete.
