The book is published by the site's principal backer and it's quite a funny book with several motor related sections. An ideal christmas present.
The use of the word b*ggered is fine in this context and I do not consider it to be offensive to anyone. Neither does W.H. Smiths which openly offers it for sale.
However, if 'b*ggered' was taken out of the swear filter it could be used offensively, so it won't be.
