Mitsubishi L200 pickups (2000 - 2006) - 05 2.5t endine over revving

05 2.5t endine over revving - ron,edin
The problem is with an L200 pick-up, the engine is revving about 500rpm higher than needs whilst driving. Also whilst sitting say at traffic lights it sum times drops or sticks but not for long. Any help.
