I ordered an i10 Classic 1.2 in Stone Black on October 1st on the scrappage scheme from Hyundai Birmingham and just got a call to say my car has arrived and ready to pick up. So there must've been a delivery recently.
I am still waiting on mine. Considering legal action against Huyundai!! I have renewed my MOT and they still cant tell me when.

Anyone contacted Watch Dog yet??

I did some time ago but heard nothing. I ordered mid-August with expected delivery mid-October. Finally took delivery yesterday! This was a 1.2 Comfort in Alpine Blue from Hyundai London.
I do wonder whether they knew something was up quite a long time ago as the salesman let slip that they refreshed the order in September.

Latest from Hyundai this week:
"It's less than ideal, but the people who have faced the long waits for i10s are inevitably those who have ordered a base model Classic in red - by far the most popular choice here and in other European countries with scrappage..
The good news is that (if the weather let's us) we plan to deliver 9,000 cars this month - that's pretty much all of the order bank.
We have therefore opened up the order book again to start selling them again.
Far from wanting people to cancel, we have been going out of our way to keep these customers mobile, with courtesy cars and MoT repairs in many cases. These have more than wiped out any profit we have on a scrappage i10. But it's worth it to keep the customers happy.
We'd urge them to hang on for just a little while longer as the new Hyundai will be worth the wait!"

In fairness I must add that Hyundai London did lend me a car to use over Christmas week (after some nagging) so thumbs up to them for that.

Ordered red i10 in early July under scrappage scheme, still awaiting delivery. Patiently waiting until I found lady down the road who ordered hers in September and took delivery in November. Same dealer as mine. I will be demanding an explanation on Monday morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
|
hyundaioap, you must either be stupid or very patient to be able to wait that long for your car. July you say? July? !
|
Did hyundailoap read Hyundai's explanation? The greates delay is for the cheapest i10 1.2 Classic in red. If his neighbour ordered a higher spec i10 or accepted a cancelled order then that is why they got their car.

My friend ordered his several days after I placed my order under the same scheme and model. It was from the same dealer and salesman. He got his in 2 months and I am still waiting for mine. How can they explain that?
|
. How can they explain that?
Have you asked them?

In the circumstances described my worry would not be so much about getting the car but did I still have a £2000 scrappage allowance to put towards paying for it. I was in a similar situation in October and I took a car in the wrong colour with the wrong spec because, if I had gone for a factory build/order, I would not have got delivery within the 4 month 'window' and my scrappage allowance would have lapsed, according to the dealer.

Did you say after some nagging? Shouldnt they put that in place anyway.

Happy? How can they keep customers happy for not being honest. We were led to believe on the delivery date and each time the date approaches they moved it!

I10 ordered 12th Oct. Phoned dealer yesterday who reported my car hasn't even been built yet ! Just to add to the fun, my old car has already been scrapped, and the 4 month scrappage deadline will soon pass. Anyone else in this position ? If so, what have you managed to negotiate with the dealer
|
|
PS, I ordered a Comfort model in Red, which doesnt appear to match Hyundai claims of the base model being the most delayed.

|

What? They shouldnt scrapped your car before the arrival of the new car. They should provide you with alternative.
I am still waiting on mine after 6 months!!! Try ringing Hyundai office, they will tell you a different story from the dealer. Anyone else have waited this long?

Rang them today and they told me that my car is not even in the country!! I have waited 6 months now. HJ, did you actually believe what they told you??

Just to say:
I've had my Kia Rio1 for a month now.
I would have needed an extra grand for Air Con, Elec Windows, Cent Locking etc.
But a new car for £5700.
It doesn't stop me bing Peed off at Hyundai for making me wait over 3 months before I gave up and cancelled, But it's a cracking little cheap runaround.
Hope this helps someone.

Nice surprise in the post today from Hyundai: £50 of M&S vouchers!
Collected my blue Comfort on 7th Jan after ordering on 15th August. Pleased so far.
|
Having read the above, I'm now very glad that we went for the blue colour option.
Really cannot fault the car at all; only disappointment has been the fuel consumption, which whilst being good, isn't quite as frugal as we thought it might be.
To anyone thinking of buying an i10, all I can say is it's a very competent little car.

Lucky you. I am still waiting. I ordered mine before yours.
|

If I were in your position, Apple, I'd be tempted to cancel the order and buy a Kia Picanto instead. Only about 2 % of the population could tell the difference.

I have comtemplated. I didnt want Hyyndai to get away with it. I am planning to contact the media and my solicitor. It would be helpful if all those who are and been through the same situation contact WatchDog this week. :)

A handful of i10 buyers e-mailed me over the weekend to tell me they had now received their cars.

Is it just me who is still waiting?

Is it just me who is still waiting?
Could be, but I doubt it. I'm sure you'll love it when it arrives, good luck.

I had everything prepared ready to go to the press and media when they rang to let me know my car has arrived. I will let you know if it is worth the wait....

My daughter is still waiting for her i10 - ordered in September (Oxford).
I think the dealer has just been taking advantage of her being so young and probably not as pushy as some of the older folk in the queue.
|
Oh yes - we're STILL waiting!!
After being told that delivery would be 2 WEEKS (!!!) In sept, then to being told nothing at all until Fri 22nd Jan, we were informed that the car was here, sort out your insurance and you can pick it up early next week, as Tues was hubbys day off we decided to go for Tues, THEN - Mon 25th Jan ( the day before we had planned to pick it up!!) we recieve a phone call to say "there's a problem" The car that we are using in the scrappage deal, the car that has been declared off road for the last 4 months and stored on my mothers drive, now needs reinsuring and taxing as we have passed the 4 month period for the order to be fulfilled!!! (by 5 days!!) You have got to be kidding!!! No, we are now frantically sorting out insurance for both the i10 (as we were never informed of the 7 day drive away policy available to us!) and now for the scrappage car, so while waiting for these all important documents to come through I get to twiddle my thumbs, worrying that the salesman is going to buckle under pressure and allocate MY car to someone else.
The communication between ourselves and this particular salesman has been POOR, we have called him - he's been out!, we have been assured that he will call us back, this time.- he never has! and heaven forbid he should actually have the foresight to pre-empt any possible problems, such as needing to re-register our interest!!!!! Aargh!!!!
The only positive in this is with the car itself, I have been assured by friends and colleagues that is worth the wait and the car is "fab" I just can't wait to find out...............
......... to be continued...................

I presume a 'tanker' came in last week - saw 10 or 12 brand new i10s at Kilmarnock dealership - maybe 50% metallic grey, 50% red.
|
Finally collected mine today, it was the red 1.2 classic, the basic one with huge delivery delays. It had been ordered mid August. Good news it was pre-invoiced (so it was at old 15% VAT) and we only paid balance on delivery 31 Jan. (so the original price in August was still valid). Like many I had to chase the dealer every four weeks for an update on delivery, (and at one stage in Oct were told it was on ship, when we next called it hadn't even been made, someone had entered order number wrong previous time). The previous car had been playing up and we had taken it in (whilst we thought ours was on the ship) as we weren't spending out to repair a car due to be scrapped, so ended up without a car for 14 weeks.
Overall Hyundai should have been more realistic about the dates as the original delivery estimate was 12 weeks and ended up as 24 weeks. Surely they could have told the dealers to increase the 12 week estimate, when they realised there was a backlog.

I ordered my Hyundai ix35 in March 2010 and have just been told that it is expected at the end of September.

Hi PrincessM
Can I ask what combination of spec of IX35 it is that you're waiting for. I'm waiting for a right hand drive, IX35, Premium, 2.0 Diesel, 4wd, Black and media pack which I ordered in May.
