Jaguar X-Type (2001 - 2009) - 05 2.0 squeaky clutch pedal

05 2.0 squeaky clutch pedal - audiA6tdi
The clutch pedal is a be squeaky. How do i solve this? Is it a case of oiling the pedal inside the cabin or is it more likely to go via the cable into the engine bay?
