Buying at auction - astronut
I am thinking about buying an Ex Daily Rental Ford Focus 1.6/1.8 Zetec at auction next week. I visited a similar auction in September and these cars were selling for between £7750 - £8300 (between 6 months to a year old).

Anybody got any idea of what sort of price should I be looking to pay for a six month old Focus Zetec with 10K on the clock?

Zetecs are about £500 - £750 dearer than LXs, and you only buy really well at these auctions if supply seriously exceeds demand. I think you'll have to pay at least £8,000 for an 02 reg 1.6 or 1.8 Zetec with climate pack (essential). For £8,950 you could have a brand new Focus 1.6 Freestyle with a/c and a 3 year warranty from any branch of Dagenham Motors.
