FIAT Doblo 1.9 multijet - Gearbox problem - le brusc

My three year old dolo with 25000 miles on the clock requires a new gearbox.It is three weeks out of warranty and Fiat have offered only 200pounds towards a cost quoted at Oldham Fiat of 1900 pounds.Oil levels were correct and the car not been abused in any way.

This reader bought the Doblo from a Volvo dealer in January 2010, the Volvo dealer serviced it prior to sale, and the reader then did 13,500 miles without a service.
