Heavy right foot & over inflated tyre? 8000 is poor but believeable.

Many years ago Continentals on auto Vx Carlton 10,000 mles new tyres needed. REplacement Michelins lasted 2 x as long

That sounds very poor - are these extremely wide tyres?

You do not state the age of your Jaguar. However I guess from ther mileage it is one year old? I would insist the dealer does a 4-wheel steering geometry check first to see if all is well. (Assuming tyre pressures correct) You could also check on the Jaguar owners' website to see if this is a known concern and if so ask Jaruar for a contribution towards a replacement tyre.

I recently had my XF 12 month service at my local Jag dealership and was informed that the rear right tyre was on "amber"- the middle section of the tyre measuring 3mm. Is this normal after only 8,000 miles of light driving?

Its not good, has that tyre been over inflated I wonder and when you mean the right rear do you mean rear nearside because that particular wheel tends to have auto release hand brake problems ie sticking on
