You might have seen the new MoT Files stories on the news and in the papers lately – you’ll find the data at honestjohn.co.uk/mot.

There’s a lot there, and I’m sure many of you will have already had a quick look through for your own cars, past and present. You’ll also find geographical data for all of the post code areas in England, Scotland and Wales.

If you go through the menus to find your specific make and model of car you’ll see key areas that tend to cause problems, so you can have them checked out before your MoT test is due and, hopefully, avoid failing on an easy-to-fix problem.

Hi All,

It was an early start for us at the HJ HQ as we were all up preparing ourselves for the morning news at 5am on BBC Breakfast with an EXCLUSIVE update on the Mot Files. Some of you may remember the coverage from last year, but for those who don't, the MoT Files is a huge database consisting of all the MoT results in the country. What this means is we can give you the most up to date information regarding the best and worst performing manufacturers and models. Where in the country you are most likely to pass and what are you most likely to fail on.
