Morgan Plus 8 50th Anniversary launched
Each handmade model of this Plus 8 50th Anniversary Edition features a unique model number, making it both a coveted collectors piece and a working automotive icon.
It is available in two unique colour and specification options, both designed to pay homage to the cars history: the blue ‘speedster spec’ or a British racing green edition, featuring a soft top.
Every element of the hand-made interior and striking exterior of the Plus 8 50th Anniversary Edition has been designed and made by London Morgan's inhouse team under the direction of the Plus 8’s 50 year tradition and Chief Designer, Jon Wells.
The car includes iconic elements of the original model, such as the spun aluminium domed panel adorning the rear, inspired by the MMC 11, combined with all new features which together mark the car’s status in the Morgan history.
Each car features a plaque stating the car’s unique product number, waterproofed black leather and detailed twin-pleated stitching. The matte-finished walnut dashboard houses specially designed dial faces.
The exterior includes external wing panels, body coloured spot lamps, extra bonnet louvres and a distinctive “8” painted on the grille by way of homage to the the power of the engine and parent model.
The Plus 8 50th Anniversary Edition features a lightweight aluminium chassis and the sought-after 4.8-litre BMW engine. With the car weighing in at just 1,100kg, Morgan has created one of the lightest V8 passenger cars in the world and an excellent power to weight ratio. This model achieves 0-62 mph in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph.
