Geneva Motor Show 2015: New Optima previewed in Kia concept
Published 10 February 2015
Kia is to preview the next generation Optima saloon in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show. The concept is the eleventh to be designed by Kia’s European studio in Germany.
Details are currently sparse, but the new car is unlikely to be based on a new platform. Instead it is expected to be a heavy facelift, which should be available in early 2016.
The 1.7-litre CRDi diesel engine familiar from the current car should make an appearance again, along with the T-Hybrid powertrain first previewed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
The preview image shows only the front half of the car, but you can tell it has a low, coupe-inspired roofline and intricately designed alloy wheels, as well as Kia’s signature grille design.
