Ford reveals Edge concept set for British market
Ford has revealed its latest SUV concept – the Edge – at the 2013 LA Motor Show. The Edge has been a popular model in the US for a few years but this is the first time it’s due to come to European shores. The boldy styled SUV showcases what the future holds for the next production model. Chances are it won’t arrive in showrooms until 2015.
It’s set to feature the latest in safety technology, including object avoidance which can steer the car to avoid hazards in the road. There’s also a system which parks the car automatically – and you don’t even need to be in the car to use it. Press a button and the car will find its way into the space with no further interaction from the driver.
Ford says the Edge will meet demand for a more upmarket SUV in the European line up, so while it’s early days for the car you can expect the production model to be bigger, more luxurious and more advanced than the current generation Kuga.
