Audi A3 e-tron qualifies for Government EV grant
Audi has confirmed that its A3 e-tron will cost £29,950 after the £5000 government Greener Vehicle Discount. The 204PS A3 e-tron is available to order from Audi showrooms now, with first deliveries due to start in early 2015.
Official economy for the e-tron is 176.6mpg thanks to a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The batteries or the electric motor can be charged to full from a wallbox in two hours and give an electric-only range of up to 31 miles at speeds of up to 80mph.
Power is also developed by a 1.4-litre petrol engine. Combined power for the motor and engine is 204PS, which gives swift performance. 0-62mph takes 7.6 seconds and top speed is 137mph. Emissions for the e-tron are 37g/km, which means it qualifies for 100 per cent congestion charge discount in London and benefits from free annual VED.
