Striking limited edition Land Rover Defenders mark end of production

To mark the end of production of the Land Rover Defender, first introduced in 1984, Land Rover is introducing three distinctive limited edition models. The Autobiography, Heritage and Adventure Edition models are priced from between £27,800 and £61,845.

The £27,800 Heritage Edition is styled after early Land Rover models, with a retro green paint job, contrasting white roof and unique grille. Graphics depict the HUE 166 number plate of the first Land Rover, nicknamed Huey. The Heritage Edition goes on sale in August and is limited to 400 units.

The Adventure Edition is priced at £43,495 and gets Goodyear MT/R tyres to improve offroad performance, along with additional underbody protection. Inside, the Adventure Edition gets leather upholstery. 600 are coming to UK dealerships.

The most expensive of the new models is the Autobiography Edition, which gets a power boost from 122PS to 150PS, along with two-tone paintwork and Windsor Leather upholstery. It will only be offered as a 90 Station Wagon and is limited to just 80 models, priced at £61,845.

The Defender has been on sale in the UK for more than 25 years. Production will stop this year, but it’s unclear what form the Defender's replacement will take.
