Yes, Volkswagen is making a T-Roc Cabriolet
Volkswagen hopes to succeed where the Range Rover Evoque failed, with a soft-top version of its T-Roc Crossover expected to start at around £25,000 when it goes on sale in Spring 2020.
Set to be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September, Volkswagen has released these images of a near production concept of the T-Roc Cabriolet ahead of its official debut.
The first Volkswagen convertible on sale since the Beetle Cabriolet was axed from the range last year, it features an electric roof which can be dropped at speeds of up to 19mph and can be opened in nine seconds.
Upgrades over the standard T-Roc include a rollover protection system which can be deployed within a fraction of a second, along with a reinforced windscreen frame.
Customers will be able to choose between Style and R-Line equipment lines, while the T-Roc Cabriolet will be initially be offered with 1.0- (115PS) and 1.5-litre (150PS) petrol engines. Buyers will also be able to choose between a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
