Are there any specific places in the UK where one can practice driving on the right, prior to taking my car abroad?

Not that I know of. I don't think it's a problem. Only likely to be when you are confused by something else, like losing your way, stopping, referring to a map, then turning back in the opposite direction. All too easy to set off on the wrong side of the road then. If you are confused, a fluorescent arrow on the left of the screen pointing right might serve as a reminder.
