Claims Ceiling

My ceiling partially fell down and damaged many items. I am still waiting to hear what and if they will pay me out on these items. BUT they are not paying me to have the ceiling replaced because I cannot give them a reason for it, it I had kicked it (hard at 69 to do this) left a tap on, put my foot/ hammer etc through, slammed a door in the room, or knocked it with something they would have paid out therefore actually causing damage. I think that this is not fair, what do u think?

But not part of my remit, I'm afraid, because there is no mention of a car.
