Worn out used cars

I bought a Rover 75 from a dealer 3 weeks ago and a garage check told me that the track rod ends were worn and need replacing.

The dealer told me that I was given a 28 day warranty. Is this fair wear and tear or should he replace them under the warranty?

He must replace them by law, which is here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
