Wing mirror damage by a bin truck.
The electric folding wing mirror on my car was damaged by a waste collection wagon and will cost about £300 to replace.
I witnessed this from a first floor window and someone arriving for work in the same business as me also saw this happen. I immediately found out which business had the collection and got a phone number to report what had happened to them.
The collection firm concerned have submitted a claim to their insurers and I have written to the insurer to state exactly what happened as the waste firm say their driver was not aware of any damage caused.
What can I do if this claim is less than the excess on their policy? As I witnessed this it seems very unfair if I end up £300 out of pocket.

Sue the waste collection company using the small claims track of the county court.
