My son has recently sold his car and had trouble because the purchaser had learned from DVLA or such that the mileage was 70,000 more than the odometer in the car. The odometer reading was correct.
It was an MoT garage that had entered the incorrect mileage in 2009. Might be worth pointing this out to your readers to check their certificates immediately, as apparently the MoT mileage can only be changed within 7 days of the test. Could be very costly.

Sensible reminder. Raises the possibility of an action for damages against the MoT station for permanently devaluing the car.
