Volvo swap shop

Thanks for advice on a previously related question. I currently own a S40 1.9 D S (115) and saw a 03 S60 D5 for sale locally. Was interested until owner said it had covered 200,000 miles. It looks and sounds an exceptional example, 2 former owners, all service history, no marks or scratches.

My S40 has covered 118,000 miles with 4 months left on MOT, pretty sure it will pass next one fine. Probably need new EGR valve and rear brakes.

S60 D5 comes with a years MOT and tax. Dealer (from home) may consider a straight swap after inspection of my vehicle. So looking at a value for each car around £1000.

I've always fancied getting an S60 as I cover around 20,000 miles a year commuting, mixture of roads and speeds.

Depending on when timing belt was last changed on S60 would be be worth swapping or too risky?

I think too risky and that's why he'll take yours as a straight swap. But at a value of just £1,000 might be a risk worth taking.
