Advice regarding Fords liability to pay for a new engine
We took our Ford S Max into Ford as the oil pressure light was coming on the dash. We asked them to do a full diagnostic and healthcheck on the car. We were advised they could not find a fault and just to check that the oil used was Ford 5w-30 (which it was) but would be ok to drive. We then drove the car and have subsequently broken down. The car has been returned to Ford and they have advised that it is an oil pressure fault and the car needs a new engine. Should Ford have spotted the oil pressure fault when we took the car to them?

If you can prove all of this and if you paid for the work the garage did then you probably have a claim for negligence and if the garage will not own up to it you need to see a solicitor. If you didn't pay for the work the garage did you don't have a case because there was no contract between you and the garage.
