Vignette fine in Austria
I recently hired a car in Munich, Germany and was staying in Mayrhofen Austria. I travelled 2,600km on Austrian/German/Italian roads in 7 days, I paid 8 euros for vignette into Austria.
They have fined me 130 euros and said I had no vignette (according to camera) the car hire company want to take it off the credit card.
I do not know how to fight it, the broker in uk, holiday autos cannot help, and Thrifty Germany cannot either.
Yet my car was checked 3 times by police at the roadworks at Jenbach/Innsbruck with no problem
I have a witness (but shes a relation) that I bought vignette, but I am at a loss as to what to do as they are trying to extort money for no reason!

Unless you have proof that you bought the vignette I can't see a way out of this. And if it's the same as the one for Switzerland, once it is stuck to the car's screen it cannot be removed without destroying it.
