Warranty issues - are scuffed alloys covered?
My car is under three years old and the lacquer has lifted from the centre 4" of the alloy wheels.
I bought it second hand from a Mercedes dealer and although I have some minor scuffing caused by me, to the rim of the wheels Mercedes say that as I have caused some damage they are not liable to replace the wheels FOC even though the damage I have caused is nowhere near the problem with the lifted lacquer (I have had them independently assessed and they say they rarely see this problem but they are so badly effected that they can't be re-diamond cut and the best they can do is strip them back and spray them).
How should we proceed and are they liable under the warranty to replace them?

Yes, this is Mercedes policy. If you have damaged the wheels in any way they will not cover a refurb.
