I bought a used Peugeot from a reputable garage a week ago. It's a three year old car with low mileage. The garage would not service the car but checked it over prior to resale. The brakes were squeaking so I returned to the garage today (seven days after I had bought it) only to find that when the engineer moved the car from the parking lot into the workshop, it would not start.

Three hours later, they informed me that they had discovered the thermostat housing was leaking coolant. The car only had 16000 on the clock. Is this a common problem with Peugeot - do I have any rights to return the car as I paid a lot for it including the warranty or can I hope that they have repaired it and it will be fine?

This is the first time I have bought a car from a garage - as I have been very ill and had no energy to look around privately. They gave me a hire car until its fixed but I am not very happy, that this sort of fault has occurred a few days later after purchase.
