Reliability
I'm tempted to buy a Seat Leon 1.4 turbo, but I'm wondering if small engines whirling like Dervishes to produce what a 1.6 or 1.8 normally aspirated petrol engines would deliver without the least stress is a good idea. I know one has to be careful, allowing turbos to cool down after long runs, but are they more of a risk and something to be avoided. Finally I think the D.Tel Motoring Editor should give you at least two more pages in my Saturday paper.....you're a gem.

Petrol turbos have water cooled turbos which conversely means the engine and the car's cabin heat up faster. So really only need idling after a long ascent or after towing. VW has just switched from chain cams to belts in its 1.2 and 1.4TSI engines. The 1.4TSI 122 is the most reliable because it has only a turbocharger, not a turbocharger and a supercharger.
