Volvo S40 D4 Geartronic - a good used buy at a bargain price?

My wife's leased Volvo S40 D4 automatic is coming up for renewal and the lease company have offered to sell it to us at a good price, which is £4000 less than any similar example I can find.

However, I can't find much information regarding the reliability of the five-cylinder D4 engine or six-speed automatic ‘box. The car has around 66,000 miles on the clock and I’m worried what might be around the corner if we keep it. What’s your advice?

Will need a timing belt and a waterpump. You can check up on Volvo five-cylinder diesels and Geartronic transmissions generally in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar Agree about the transmission.
