Age versus mileage when buying a used car
I am thinking of buying a used car to replace my 2003 Honda Civic Type S which I have owned for 11 years. I only cover about 3000 miles per year. Should I buy a newer car with higher miles or an older car with lower miles for the same price around 8 to 9 k. Is it cost effective to keep cars for as long as 10 years . The cars I am considering are the mark 8 Honda Civic, mark 9 Honda Civic, Honda Accord 2008 onwards, Toyota Avensis 2009 onwards and the Renault Megane 2009 onwards. Which of these cars would be the most reliable and drive similar to my Honda Civic Type S

You actually have an excellent car, so only think of letting it go if its age means it is becoming unreliable. Definintely don't switch for the sake of switching. A Honda Civic 1.8iVTEC from 2006 is a good choice but with 134PS v/s the 160PS of your Civic Type S is not the same thing to drive.
