Clutch slipping on Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost

I am having problems with my clutch rubbing/slipping on my Focus 1.0 ecoboost 2012. I bought the car second hand back in September last year and it has just 26,000 miles on the clock. I took my Focus into Ford as its still under warranty for them to have a look and they wont look for the root cause as they say that the part may not be covered under the warranty. They said that they would charge me over £600 to fix the issue if the part is not down to warranty. What would you advise?

The problem seems to be the clutch slave cylinder, but when people have the clutch replaced and the slave cylinder is also replaced (and they are billed for it), the old slave cylinder is not returned and the dealer puts the blame on the driver. So if the clutch and DMF and slave cylinder is replaced insist on the old slave cylinder being returned to you for testing, and if it isn't sue the dealer for the cost of the repair in the small claims track of the county court.
