Fine due to faulty parking meter
We stayed at Premier Inn Tenby and were told we could use the car park at the back. Not owned by them but controlled by Premier Park. We tried but failed. Money went straight through their machine. The telephone no. supplied was faulty. Did not recognise my reg no. "P" was heard as a "D". We decided better to move out to another car park. We were there only 15 mins and the notice clearly stated we had 20 mins if guests at Premier Inn. They do not accept the above explanation. We feel it is totally unjustified as we tried to insert the £8 and we tried to phone and we had 20 mins to do so. We only took 15 mins this is recorded on the fine notice.

You could appeal via POPLA. The general issue is now with the Supreme Court, but the law as it stands is that if POPLA or the small claims court do not find in your favour you have to pay. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/private-parking-penalties/
