Radio problems with SEAT Leon

I have a 2001 SEAT Leon and when I go to set off the radio reads phone on the display and the music, whether a CD or radio cuts on and off, fades and comes back. I don't know why when all settings are normal and I am not in phone mode can you help?

This is a 14 year old car and my experience of VWG electrics is that all kinds of things can start to fail after about 8 years, particularly the fuel/trip computers and anything with stalk or steering wheel buttons. I can't give you a DIY fix. Up to you whether to call in a 'car electrical specialist' (www.yell.com) or take it to an ICE repair specialist.
