Engine in New Model Jazz
The new model Jazz has launched in the UK with only one engine option - a 1.3 petrol. I am aware from a friend in California that the Honda Jazz (or Honda Fit as it is known) has a 1.0 3 cylinder petrol and a 1.5 hybrid - when do you think it likely those power plants will become available in the UK? And if not, why has Honda taken that decision?

Roger Stansfield tested the 1.0 3-cylinder for us in Japan. I think you can be sure the 1.0 and the 1.5 hybrid will eventually reach us, and a hybrid of the HR-V. Our Jazz II in Thailand has a 1.5iVTEC 120PS engine and 5-speed torque converter box which is a combination, ironically, also built in Swindon for the South African market but precluded from Europe because of emissions. It's much quicker and much more relaxed than a UK Jazz, but only does around 38mpg on E20. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/honda/jazz-2014/
