29 year old male buying first car
My boyfriend is 29 and has just taken and passed his first driving test. We both know nothing about cars. How does he know what to budget? Which car to buy? New on finance? Used but only few years old? Or an old banger?

Some of this will be determined by insurance. But probably best to start with a new small hatchback such as a Citroen C1, Peugoot 108 or Toyota Yaris, or a Vauxhall Viva, Volkswagen Up, SEAT Mii or Skoda Citigo, on a 3 year PCP. Then you will at least have a car that will probably never break down.
