Whats wrong with my Skoda Fabia 1.4?

My car wouldn't start after travelling 5 miles, changed the battery. Then today on the motorway, Power steering light came on as well as alternator light, then the engine cut out on me, car wouldn't restart and neither would my hazards, lights, or radio work.

Clueless please help.

I'd guess that the earth lead from the battery to the car body has become detached.
