Nice car but avoid AMG suspension and low profile tyres
Bought this to replace my previous generation E class (which i loved and died just short of 200k miles). The 250 CDI engine and 7 speed auto are well matched, with seamless gear changes and impressive real fuel economy for such a big car. The cabin is well conceived, good driving position, easy to use infotainment system and great seats. However the car's ride is a big disappointment as it is on 19' low profile tyres with AMG suspension - tolerable on motorways/dual carriageways but harsh and jittery on B roads and lanes where you feel every imperfection in the road (my error due to only doing a short test drive). My advice is avoid the AMG suspension and stick to 17" wheels.
